CHARACTER INFO.
Character Name: Uchiha, Sasuke
Canon: Naruto (manga), after he's stabbed by Madara and before he meets the Sage of the Six Paths (Canon updated to the end of 699.)
Character Appearance: what is a sense of fashion
Character Age: 17
Pick A Number: 606, 723

Canon Setting: The setting for Naruto takes place in a world heavily based in Japanese mythology without actually being connected to Earth as we know it. (There are obvious adjustments made as the series progresses, as at one point a character makes a Confucius reference but such things aren't brought up later on.) The technology is questionable, as long distance communication requires large complicated machines, but the movies make mention of cinema and hand held video games. Someone from the Narutoverse would be familiar with a radio, but probably not a phone or computer. Early images of the Leaf Village depict telephone wires, electrical cables, and billboards, but as the story doesn't focus on the technological aspects of the world, none of this was ever delved into.

The story focuses on the ninja, particularly those in the Village Hidden in the Leaves within the Land of Fire. The world is divided up into several nations, generally named for elements or weather. The five greatest of these are the Lands of Fire, Earth, Water, Wind, and Lightning - the five prominent elements used in the series. Within each nation is a village ruled by a 'Kage'. The Village Hidden in the Leaves is ruled by the Hokage, or "fire shadow". It's a running theme that the most optimistic and inspiring characters in the series want to become Hokage - Naruto being the prime example of that.

The rest of each country is ruled by a fuedal lord. Though technically they have the same amount of power as the kage, it's ultimately the hidden village that makes decisions in regard to warfare and safety of their nation. Originally, ninja clans fought each other in endless, bloody struggles for power. When two clans, the Senju and the Uchiha, joined forces and started the first village, the Village Hidden in the Leaves, other clans were forced to follow suit in order to hold up some balance of power between everyone. Though the first village was founded with the idea of creating a peaceful existence for the younger generations, and this succeeded, the treaties between each nation are tenuous at best and there have still been large scale wars since the system was put into place.

To help keep each other in check, as well as to train their youth for the trials they'll face when they're full ninja, the villages host competitions that include participants from all the nations for the sake of earning a place among the higher ranks - the chuunin. Many take several tries to make it through, while some never make it at all and remain the lowest level, a genin, for the rest of their life. The higher the rank, the better class of mission a ninja is allowed to take. After chuunin there's jounin, who often take the position of instructing others. There is also a special unit, the ANBU black ops division, who take on some of the darker affairs of the village.

Ninjas rely on chakra for their abilities, which is a mixture of a person's physical and spiritual energies. Some ninja have more chakra reserves than others, and there is a different "feel" to them that those with good chakra sensing abilities can pick out. Techniques are performed using hand seals to release the energy - though not all require them. Everyone has a certain elemental affinity, though some can learn to use one other over their lifetime. Each element has strengths and weaknesses in relation to the others, and in some cases elements can be merged. Wind and water elements can create ice techniques, for example. Through a combination of this, as well as the affinities of yin and yang, basically any sort of technique can be created. Some clans have special bloodline traits that anyone born in their clan can develop. The Sharingan of the Uchiha clan is an example of this.

Chakra of this world, though going by the same name as energy used in others, actually has a rather complicated history. A woman from a far off land, Kaguya Otsutsuki, ate the fruit of the Shinju, the origin of all chakra. While she originally intended to use this power to bring peace to the warring world, she eventually became consumed by it and used an illusionary technique to trap people in a dream-like state. She would have two sons, humans who would inherit her powerful chakra and eye techniques. Angered that they had taken energy she considered rightfully hers, she merged with the Shinju to create the ten-tailed beast. Her sons managed to defeat her and seal her away. One of them, Hagoromo, divided the chakra of the ten-tailed beast into nine separate entities - tailed beasts of one to nine tails. When he died, they were left to roam the world. Because they were so powerful, and could cause so much destruction, they were all ultimately sealed away in a way that allowed for others to make use of their power - sharing the bodies of certain chosen ninja. Naruto would eventually become the vessel for the Nine-Tails.

A plan to revive the ten-tails and put everyone into that same dream-like state that Kaguya had used before, the Infinite Tsukuyomi, would bring all the nations together in an effort to put a stop to it.

Character History: From the Naruto wikia.

Character Personality: Even as a child, while he still had a more cheerful disposition, Sasuke was always proud. He came from a powerful clan and hoped to one day be as strong as his older brother. Because of this, he tended to act as though he was above everyone else. This only got worse after his clan was killed, as he set himself on a coarse of vengeance that he didn't think anyone else could understand or help with.

His brother's actions, as well as the way he viewed himself in comparison to his brother, left him with something of an inferiority complex that only reveals itself when he's faced with someone who's stronger than he is. This is seen especially in his rivalry with Naruto as the other steadily gains in strength. Itachi was one of the more powerful members of his clan, after all. How could he hope to defeat him if he couldn't beat his fellow ninja? This seems to have become less of an issue lately, especially after Itachi's death, as there are fewer hints of jealousy when he sees how strong Naruto's become in comparison. (Though it definitely hasn't gone away, as he can be seen to be humorously put out later when someone claims someone else's version of a technique is better than his.)

He's one of the series' many genius characters, excelling in most of the fields covered in the academy. This doesn't help when it comes to issues of superiority (yes he has both complexes) in regards to others. He thinks he's better because a lot of the time he simply is. He knows how to take in a situation quickly and react before most. Every move is carefully calculated, and he doesn't (usually) run in without a plan - as opposed to a certain teammate of his.

Sasuke was created as Naruto's rival and foil. He is, quite literally as we see later, the yin to Naruto's yang. Where Naruto is boisterous and attention-seeking, Sasuke is broody and collected - and this draws plenty of attention on its own, which in turn causes Naruto to try and outdo him. Sasuke had some of the highest grades in their class, while Naruto had the lowest. Both of them are cocky and overconfident, but where Naruto will yell his challenges to the wind, Sasuke will just regard them like they aren't worth his time. Their rivalry works out well in this way, and the two of them have respect for the other's abilities. They had even started to develop a friendship of sorts until Itachi appeared and reminded Sasuke that he still had a long way to go before he defeated him, an event that brought out the boy's darker side and caused him to toss away all notions of friendship in favor of revenge.

These particularly dark flames were first stoked by Orochimaru, who gave him the cursed seal and in doing so gave him a taste of power. Sasuke desires power greatly in order to help him with his ultimate goal of defeating his brother. His desire to do things on his own is also a contrast to Naruto, who excels through obtaining and working alongside new allies.

The Uchiha as a whole are prone to suffering the Curse of Hatred, and as Sasuke is the reincarnation of Indra, the clan's founder, he is especially open to it. Those in the clan do their best to keep their emotions in check, as they have deeper affections than anyone. When those they care for are taken from them, they can become lost in despair and hatred. Their strong emotions cause a trait of their bloodline, the Sharingan, to form. Further losses only cause it to become stronger. Itachi told Sasuke that he had to kill the one he cared for most in order to gain the Mangekyo Sharingan, but this isn't really the case. It's gained when someone with the Sharingan is overcome with emotion over the loss of that person. Sasuke doesn't gain his until he realizes the truth about his brother after his death. It's his grief over this loss that causes him to lose himself and head on a path of destruction - particularly Konoha's destruction.

While at first he's somewhat reasonable, leading his own team and making his way toward his goal without any needless killing, the death of his brother causes him to toss some of those morals out the window. He wants to kill Danzo and the other elders, and is willing to sacrifice his own team members (old and new) in order to accomplish this. It's only the words of his resurrected brother that snap him out of this and cause him to consider his choices more carefully.

He's a ball of confusion by the end of it, going so far as to bring back Orochimaru and the previous leaders of his village to explain to him things about their village and clan that influenced his brother's decisions. He's calmed down, more rational, and in this state decides that he wants to follow Itachi's wishes after all and protect the village and take charge of it rather than destroy it, bringing him full circle and closer to the way he was at the start of the series. This is shown in the way he reunites with (and apologizes to) members of the team he'd put together in Orochimaru's village.

At this point, where I'm taking him from, he's more willing to work with others, but still has that same above-you-all attitude. That will likely forever just be a part of his nature. He's not the most friendly of people, but he doesn't have a heart of stone either. Deep down, his friendships mean something to him, and this will become more apparent the further away he gets from seeing everyone as simply tools in his own personal quest.

Sasuke prefers to be in charge, and as such will often tell others what to do even if it really isn't his place to do so. He isn't completely above taking orders from others, and he'll do what he's instructed to do by his team leader, but he doesn't care for it. He has a very demanding presence which will sometimes cause people to simply fall in line regardless.

He isn't incapable of smiling or enjoying himself. The situations he's been in just haven't allowed it for some time and he tried to leave all that behind when he left Konoha. (And when he did it was in madness and incredibly unpleasant to witness.) He takes everything incredibly seriously - more than he really should a lot of the time, and doesn't take the feelings of others into account when he makes decisions in battle. If someone is a hindrance, then they shouldn't be trying to lend a hand as far as he's concerned.

Though his default manner is stoic, he isn't vulcan when it comes to showing emotion. He shows it all the time, anger and surprise especially, but he does his best not to be taken by either when fighting an opponent as it makes him look weak.

On a basic level, Sasuke has always been a bit on the rude side. He never addresses anyone politely with honorifics, unless it's his family, using everyone's given name. He calls Itachi brother again once he sees him after his death. He doesn't outright show disdain for most people, but gives them all the same discourtesies.

According to the official data books, his hobbies are training and taking walks and his favorite foods are omusubi with okaka and tomatoes, while his least favorite are natto and anything sweet.

Character Powers & Skills: I feel like I should apologize in advance.

Mental skills:
Though he didn't enter or graduate from the academy any earlier than normal (as opposed to other "genius" characters like his brother and Kakashi) Sasuke is praised by many as being very intelligent for his age. He had the highest grades in his class for anything that didn't involve dealing with others. He learns quickly, faster with the Sharingan, and a lot of his techniques are self-taught. Though he copies the movies of others often, he usually takes them and improves upon them, using them as a foundation for a stronger technique.

His strengths lay in strategy and combat, and though he can do well in fields like basic mathematics and scholastics, they aren't his main focus. Pure knowledge and book studies are more in Sakura's field.

It should be noted that Sasuke has been shown to be incredibly good at learning skills from others and adapting them to his own needs. I say this because it may go against the "if it's not listed here you can't use it" rule. He obviously couldn't adapt anything that he's not physically capable of performing, but creating new moves is sort of his thing.

Taijutsu (Physical combat)

Having used basic physical combat to make up for what he lacked in some other fields, Sasuke has little trouble with it. He's not on the same level as someone like Rock Lee, who has no ability to use chakra based techniques and thus has to focus on physical fighting only, but he has incorporated a lot of the aforementioned ninja's skills into his own due to at one point having to limit the use of his own chakra. These skills were only further improved under Orochimaru's guidance, and he can keep up with basically any of the other high level ninja in the series.

His speed and reflexes are very high, and he's capable of performing what's generally called the "body flicker technique" which involves moving from one location to another faster than the human eye can follow, making it appear almost as though the person has teleported. He also has incredible stamina, lasting through several difficult fights in a row and still having a lot of raw physical strength to show for it.

Weapons

As a main weapon, Sasuke likes to use a chokutō that he refers to as the Sword of Kusanagi. Orochimaru has one of the same name, but there doesn't seem to be anything particularly special about Sasuke's version except that it's rather durable. He uses it in straight combat as well as a means to channel lightning chakra through. When he does the latter, he can use the lightning as an extension of the blade to pierce things at greater distances as well as allow it to cut through objects it normally wouldn't be able to. If piercing an enemy with this weapon, he will often use electrical currents to stun or numb them in the process so they can't fight back. He can use the sword in either hand in both normal or reverse grip, allowing him to block from otherwise difficult angles. It can also be thrown at mid-range with great precision.

He is also well trained in the use of shuriken, both large and small. He actually uses them more than kunai, which is the common ninja staple when it comes to throwing weapons. Thin metal wire is a favorite as well, and he will sometimes use it attached to shuriken in order to tie up or deceive his enemies (as the wire is hard to see). When he uses large shuriken, they are folded up to a size nearly the length of his arm, and he is good at hiding a second one in the shadow of the first. Rigging them with wire is also possible, at which point he can shatter them to take his enemy by surprise. His accuracy is incredible, due in part to the Sharingan. He will keep weapons at the ready that he can summon via seals on bands around his wrists.

Summoning Techniques

Sasuke has pacts with both hawks and snakes, allowing him to summon large intelligent ones to come to his aid. As the creatures would be far away back in his own world, it's doubtful that such techniques could be used while he's working with the CDC. Calling forth other animals with basic summoning seals may be possible, however, as long as they're ones he's made contact with here.

Elemental Ninjutsu

Every ninja has an elemental affiliation when it comes to their chakra. Few can use more than two well, and some never even manage that. Everyone can use basic attacks for every element, but it takes being connected to one to be able to use the more powerful techniques. Sasuke has strong affiliations to both fire and lightning based chakra.

FIRE RELEASE - Fire techniques are a staple among members of the Leaf Village, but especially among the Uchiha clan. As a young boy, Sasuke pressured himself to learn a large fireball technique, since his brother had mastered it at an even earlier age. He manages to do it, impressing his father. That he had already gained the ability to control elemental chakra that well would later surprise his team leader Kakashi also. His known fire techniques are as follows:

Great Fireball technique: The basic fire attack and the one Sasuke learned first. The user builds up chakra and expels it through their breath to call forth a huge fireball.
Phoenix Sage Fire Technique: Like the above move, only the fire is expelled in many smaller bursts of flame. It's possible to conceal shuriken in the flames.
Dragon Fire Technique: Flames are released along some sort of conduit, like a length of wire, in order to burn the victim on the other end.
Great Dragon Fire Technique: The user compresses a large about of built up charka into a burst of flame in the shape of a dragon's head that they can control. Sasuke uses this technique at one point to create an upward movement of warm air currents which in turn create the thunder clouds necessary for his Kirin electrical attack.

BLAZE RELEASE - Sasuke has taken the black flames of Amaterasu, a fire technique using the Sharingan that his brother passed down to him, and gained the ability to manipulate them to his will. Kagutsuchi is what the direct manipulation is called. He summons the flames with his left eye and manipulates them with his right. They can be used both offensively and defensively. Like Amaterasu, the flames won't burn out until there's nothing left to burn or until Sasuke puts them out himself. They can burn anything, even other flames.

He can sync this up perfectly with Naruto's Rasengan technique, a task that would be difficult for most, creating an even more powerful attack between the both of them in the process.

LIGHTNING RELEASE - Kakashi helped Sasuke discover his second elemental affinity, which is one they share. He then passed along his main technique, which Sasuke then developed and improved upon.

Chidori: The main technique developed by Kakashi. The user builds up chakra in one hand and releases it to pierce the opponent. Most who use this technique can only manage it a couple times a day, and if not controlled properly it can cause damage to the user as well. Sasuke has honed it to perfection with different variations, allowing him to use it more than most. Despite it being a loud technique, producing a sound like many birds chirping, the speed at which it's performed usually makes the warning irrelevant.
Chidori Current: The user streams electricity through his body, using it like an offensive shield to knock back and stun attackers.
Chidori Senbon: The attack is released in the form of many senbon needles. With the accuracy allowed by the Sharingan, these can easily strike many of an opponent's vital points.
Chidori Sharp Spear: Though more often channeled through his sword, Sasuke can perform this long distance piercing technique without it. The lightning forms the shape of a long blade, and once he's hit his target he can form even more out of it to cause further damage.
Kirin: An extremely powerful lightning technique, this can be performed with very little chakra but is a one shot deal as it involves manipulating actual weather patterns. A large fire technique is used to alter the atmosphere and create thunderclouds. Kirin is formed of the actual lightning within those clouds and summoned down in the shape of a large dragon/serpent beast.

The Sharingan

A few of the more powerful members of the Uchiha clan are capable of awakening something called the Sharingan, a kekkei genkai (literally "technique limited to inheritance by blood") that allows them to perform many powerful eye techniques, or doujutsu. The eyes evolve and allow stronger techniques the more powerful the ninja becomes. They start with one tomoe in each eye and grow to a maximum of three.

The basic Sharingan gives its user greatly enhanced visual prowess. They can see things the moment they happen, allowing for the user to react at a speed that makes it seem as though they knew what their opponent was going to do ahead of time. They can also copy the techniques of others, provided that they're physically capable of performing it themselves. Sasuke's Sharingan is powerful enough that he was able to match what some others were capable of with the Mangekyo before he even had it.

He can use genjutsu, or illusionary techniques, in order to trick opponents. He can freeze enemies with a look, and send visions that will shock their system. He can hypnotize targets to restrict their movements, and relay his own memories to the minds of others. He's been shown to be capable of overriding most other genjutsus or mind techniques used on him, even so far as to trap Orochimaru's soul rather than let the other take over his body. He can subjugate the tailed beasts, creatures of immense chakra, even going so far as to enter Naruto's mind to suppress the nine-tail's chakra. Large summoned creatures are also not beyond his ability to control.

MANGEKYO SHARINGAN - The Mangekyo is unlocked when a Sharingan user witnesses the death of the one closest to them. The shape of the iris completely changes. In Sasuke's case, the look of his is referred to as a straight tomoe type. It gives him an even greater ability to read his opponents movements and fluidly act upon them. After transplanting Itachi's eyes into his own sockets, Sasuke gained the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan, which allows him to use the abilities provided by the Mangekyo without worrying about suffering the usual deteriorating effects such techniques provide.

When Itachi died, he passed on some of his own eye techniques to his brother. These include Amaterasu, black flames that burn anything they touch, including other fire, until there's nothing left to burn or they're put out by the user. Sasuke would later incorporate this isn't Blaze Release, allowing him to easily control and shape the flames. However, he did not inherit his brother's ability ti use the Tsukuyomi, so while his genjutus are powerful he can't alter anyone's perception of space and time.

SUSANO'O - One of the greatest techniques allowed by the Mangekyo Sharinga is Susano'o, a shield of chakra that can also act offensively. Sasuke's is purple in color. It can be used in various strengths, from something that's no more than a ribcage to a form that's basically a golem, the form of an armored man with more than two arms. Sasuke's full form has developed wings, giving it the ability to fly. When in the complete form, the ninja is ensconced in a jewel on the forehead and Susano'o is several meters high. Sasuke has perfected the ability to use Blaze Release while in this form, and he can create a sword as well as magatama shaped projectiles from the black flames. Having used a bow and arrow as a child, he has incorporated such a weapon into his Susano'o also, from which he can shoot highly accurate arrows tipped with Amaterasu's black flames.

Other Items of note

Just in general, Sasuke has some of the most powerful chakra in the series. Other characters remark on it often. This is due in part to the fact that he is the reincarnation of Indra, a grandson to the woman who had brought charka to humans in the first place.

His training with Orochimaru has also made him immune or at least highly resistant to most poisons. This may not apply to those from other worlds as their composition may be completely different.

He was once the bearer of a Cursed Seal, giving him a cursed form he could change into, and for a while he also had many of Orochimaru's abilities since he'd essentially absorbed him. Both of these skill sets were removed with Itachi pulled Orochimaru's soul from him.

CHARACTER SAMPLES.
First Person POV: TDM top level thread (I also keep a tracking post that has all of my other TDM threads on it here.)

Third Person POV:
I can't die.

It was a mantra that pierced even into Sasuke's unconsciousness as the warmth slowly drained from his body. He couldn't feel the stone pressed into his cheek anymore. Perhaps that was some sort of blessing.

He couldn't fight the darkness that came, no matter how much he tried. It was wrong that it would end this way, after everything he'd done and after how far he'd come. Before he was able to fulfill his new goals, as hazy as they were. This was some fluke. Some impossibility.

Which is why he wasn't taken back when the figure stepped out of the darkness to approach him. It was almost as if he expected it to happen.

"Hello!" It was a small old man, dressed as a civilian. Appearances hardly mattered when Sasuke was aware this was all in his mind, however. He couldn't recall having gotten to his feet, but that didn't give him any pause either.

"What do you want?" Sasuke's eyes narrowed. It was the obvious question of course. What strange individuals appeared in one's subconscious without wanting something? "I don't know you."

The little man laughed at that. "Of course you don't! And don't worry, I'm not going to go into the cliched shpeal about this being all about what you want - though it is, to a point. The fact of the matter is," and here his tone sobered up considerably, "you're going to die unless I help you."

That wasn't the entire truth. Sasuke couldn't know that Kabuto would come along to heal him at the brink of death, and that he would soon be granted abilities from the Sage of the Six Paths. This little visit here had to be done in a timely manner, actually, specifically for that reason. This CDC representative had to get to the point quickly.

The ninja's hand went to the sword at his waist, one that shouldn't even be there since Madara had stabbed him with it, but then this was his mindscape after all. For this same reason, it was doubtful he'd be able to hurt the other man with it even if he wanted to. He was already set up for empty threats.

"Then what do you--"

"Want, yes. I'm getting to that." The man waved off further questions. "Your world's in peril already. You know this. I know this. I can help you, and I can guarantee the safety of your owl world even after this particular debacle, if you agree to offer your assistance with my organization."

Sasuke held his hand on the hilt of his blade. He wasn't sure what he'd been expecting to hear, though this came close. There was too much going on right now for some new outsider to be thrown into it - for there to be some other angle he had to worry about. "Let me go back. I'll help you once this is finished."

"Impossible!" The expected answer caused Sasuke to scoff even as the man grinned. "You know I couldn't agree to something as open-ended as that." Though his response was hypocrisy at its finest. "You really only have one option. You come along with me, or I leave you here to die. Once your contract runs out (Whenever that might be. Contract details are subject to change and computer error.) we'll send you back and you can finish things up here as though nothing ever happened."

"I'm needed now."

"You're dead right now. A corpse is hardly good for anything, I'm afraid."

Scowling, Sasuke turned his attention away from the man to stare at the empty darkness at his feet. Unfortunately, this stranger was right. If he was alive, no matter what he was duped into, there was still a chance that he could get back. Whatever this organization wanted, he wasn't a fool. He could find some way to twist this to his advantage. He had before.

It really was his only option.

At last he nodded, face set and determined. "Fine. I'll do it."

CHARACTER ITEMS.
Pick a Team: Red; Sasuke isn't above heading into the gray area when it comes to missions, and ninja are nothing if not stealthy at what they do. (This is definitely my first preference.) Green; Sasuke is more of a front line fighter than a scout, making this team better suited for him than the orange one.

Reason for Joining the CDC: Well, he thinks he'll die at this rate and the CDC has offered him the chance to live. As long as he lives, he has a chance of getting back to his own world and accomplishing his goals. He's just set himself on a new path and he'll be damned if he's kept from it. Sasuke is particularly overconfident when it comes to some things, and he's certain that he'll be able to use this organization to his advantage somehow. Perhaps he'll learn some skills from others here while he's at it - as he'll never pass up the opportunity to get stronger. He doesn't care for wiping out other sentient species and he'll try to twist the rules when he can, but the truth of the matters is that his own world means more to him than any of the ones they're set to destroy.

Mission Freebie: He's not sure about what this organization can really do. As such, he's asking to be able to use the Tsukuyomi (the technique that alter's an opponents perception of time and traps them in a mindscape for what can feel like several days to them), specifically without losing any of his current skills in the process, just to see if they can do it.

Personal Item or Weapon: His Sword of Kusanagi. It's an ordinary sword that he uses to channel chakra through.

Character Inventory:
His clothing and the weapon listed above. He wears no jewelry.
